How long have you been in business?
Dickstein Real Estate Services is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
What is your primary product or service?
We help companies contain their real estate costs. We do this by motivating the Landlord to compete for your business. We help companies to renew leases, locate office and industrial space and negotiate the effective terms for a lease or purchase agreement. We are real estate advisors that represents tenants and buyers of commercial real estate. We never represent Landlords!
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I have been doing corporate real estate for more than 30 years, first representing the likes of Merrill Lynch & Co as Director or Real Estate Planning an Acquisitions and then as Vice President of Shearson American Express. I found that by establishing my own company, I was able to provide a greater range of advisory services to my clients.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
I am the last of the tenant/buyer representatives. I never represent Landlords or Sellers. Why is that so important? Unless you have an agreement with your real estate advisor that states he works for you, he really represents the Landlord or Buyer. That can make all the difference. Besides, you wouldn't use the attorney who is suing you to represent you in a transaction. A real estate transaction is too complex. You need your own representation. You need a fiduciary who represents YOUR interests, not the Landlords.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We are a boutique firm that is not trying to be all things to all customers. We have the ability to locate office and industrial properties across the State of NJ. Through our affiliates, we can find space anywhere in United States.

What type of payments do you accept?
We are most often paid a commission by the Landlord or Seller from proceeds already allocated to the deal. We add expertise, not cost. Most Landlords are represented by an agent. We are on the other side of the transaction to represent your interests.

Central and Northern NJ and all of the continental US and 35 countries Internationally.
